When his grandfather died all of his pocket watches were given to the family. My husband received the sliver engraved pocket watch since he was named after him. The whole family was jealous as they all loved the sliver engraved pocket watch. Of all of his pocket watches this is the one we remember him using. Don't get me wrong all of the boys just loved the pockets watches that they received but the silver engraved pocket watch was the best family heirloom. We were told that he had the silver engraved pockets watch on him at all time during the war. We plan on putting the silver engraved pocket watch in a display case as I believe the others will do the same with the other pocket watches.
